Abstract
This article explores the significance andeffectiveness of international legal instruments in protecting therights of migrant workers. It provides a comparative analysis of keyinternational conventions such as the International Convention onthe Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members ofTheir Families (1990), ILO Conventions No. 97 and No. 143, andregional agreements, examining their implementation acrossdifferent countries. The study identifies common challenges such aslack of enforcement mechanisms, legal gaps in national legislations,and socio-political barriers. It also highlights best practices andpolicy recommendations for enhancing the legal protection ofmigrant workers through harmonized and inclusive legalframeworks. The article is based on a review of international legalnorms, case studies, and recent statistical data from selectedmigrant-receiving and migrant-sending countries.
