Abstract

This article analyzes the regional characteristics of service sector diversification in the Republic of Uzbekistan based on statistical data. In recent years, the service sector has become the leading contributor to the country's gross domestic product (GDP), with its share increasing from 46.2% in 2023 to 49.4% during the January–September period of 2025. The study identifies significant regional disparities in the development of the service sector, including the concentration of resources and infrastructure in the capital city and major regions, as well as the relatively low level of diversification in remote areas. Using data from the Statistics Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, regional statistical offices, and scientific publications, the study develops specific and statistically substantiated recommendations aimed at reducing regional disparities and strengthening regional diversification through the expansion of digital services and the development of small businesses. The findings of this research may serve as a practical basis for the formulation of regional socio-economic policy and may also be applied in the teaching process of higher education institutions specializing in economics.
