Abstract

In order to ensure the sustainable development of regions, a comprehensive assessment of their competitiveness is of great scientific and practical importance. In existing assessment approaches, regions are mainly characterized on the basis of individual economic indicators such as gross regional product, industrial production or investment volume, and the structural quality, economic flexibility and sustainable development potential of the region are not sufficiently taken into account. The purpose of this study is to improve the system of integrated indicators for assessing the level of competitiveness in the sustainable development of the Tashkent region and to assess the state of economic development of the region based on a multi-criteria approach. The study used systematic analysis, comparative analysis, economic and statistical methods, min-max normalization, weighting and aggregation methods. As a result, a system of integrated indicators was proposed that allows for a comprehensive assessment of regional competitiveness based on economic efficiency, investment activity, service development, population welfare, business environment and structural balance blocks. This methodology allows for identifying the strengths and weaknesses of regions, conducting inter-regional comparative analyses and developing regional development strategies.
