Abstract
This article discusses methods that allow a comprehensive assessment and prediction of the level of sustainable development of the regions of Uzbekistan. Economic, social and environmental indicators are used for this purpose. To assess the development of the regions, the following parameters were selected: gross regional product, investment, industrial production and services, household income, wages, employment level, dependence on external transfers and environmental indicators. The normalization method was used to compare indicators in different units of measurement. Based on the data obtained, a Regional Sustainable Development Index was developed, which includes economic, social and environmental components. A methodology has been successfully tested in the Ferghana region, which made it possible to determine the integral index at the level of 0.649. Ideas were also proposed for the formation of a differentiated regional strategy based on predicting the dynamics of the index using panel regression and identifying weaknesses in different regions.
