Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into IT project management is creating new opportunities for improving project planning, resource allocation, risk management, decision-making, and infrastructure optimization within vocational and technical education. This article examines the potential of AI-driven IT project management within the Pearson BTEC educational framework, with particular attention to IT governance and the optimization of digital infrastructure. The study explores how AI technologies can support the planning and monitoring of IT projects, automate routine management processes, identify potential project risks, analyze operational data, and improve the efficiency of resource utilization. Particular emphasis is placed on the integration of AI-based analytical and decision-support tools into competency-based vocational education, where students are expected to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical IT management skills. The proposed strategic framework connects AI technologies with project governance, infrastructure management, risk assessment, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement. The study also considers the importance of developing students’ digital, analytical, problem-solving, and project management competencies through practical AI-supported learning activities. The findings indicate that the systematic integration of artificial intelligence into Pearson BTEC-oriented IT education can contribute to more effective project management practices, strengthen students’ practical competencies, and create a more adaptive approach to IT governance and infrastructure optimization. The proposed framework can serve as a methodological basis for improving AI-supported IT education and preparing students for the evolving requirements of the digital labor market.
