Abstract
This article examines the educational potential and linguodidactic significance of English and Uzbek proverbs. Proverbs are an important part of cultural heritage and serve as effective tools in language teaching. The study analyzes the linguistic and paremiological features of proverbs, their role in vocabul\ary development, communicative competence formation, and intercultural communication. A comparative analysis of English and Uzbek proverbs reveals both common and culture-specific characteristics. The findings indicate that proverbs contribute significantly to language learning by enriching learners’ linguistic knowledge and cultural awareness. The article highlights the importance of integrating proverbs into foreign language teaching to enhance educational effectiveness and intercultural understanding.
