Abstract
: This article analyzes the formation of verification thinking in students through scientific research activity. Verification thinking is interpreted as an integrative intellectual quality that enables a learner to check the reliability of information, examine the logical coherence of claims, compare evidence with sources, test hypotheses and justify conclusions through methodological criteria. The article argues that student research activity is not only a form of academic work but also a pedagogical environment in which learners acquire evidence-based reasoning, academic integrity and reflective self-control. The study connects Uzbek pedagogical views on critical thinking and information-cognitive activity with international discussions of falsifiability, reflective inquiry and critical reasoning. It is shown that verification thinking develops through a continuous cycle of problem identification, literature analysis, hypothesis formulation, methodological choice, data interpretation, peer discussion and reflective correction. The proposed approach may be used in higher education courses, student scientific societies, independent work and research-oriented seminars.
